Why do you collect mounts?

Why do you collect mounts?
When I put this question to my guildies – their answers vary from:
- I don’t really collect them, I just take the ones that are kind of right there in front of me.
- Sometimes I’ll spend a lazy Saturday flying around the older zones, going through an instance or two to see if I can pick up some that I missed.
- OMG, I have 29 max level alts – and I run all the world bosses, and old instances on reset day. Every time. I MUST HAVE THEM ALL.
Do you recognise yourself in one of those answers?
Mount Collecting Mindset
I find myself somewhere between 2 and 3 of the above answers.
I will generally pick up mounts as I go:
- Faction Gated Mounts (get exalted, buy the mount)
- Raid Achievement Mounts (guild organizes an achievement run halfway through the tier, yes I’m there!)
- Random raid drop mounts (e.g. Antoran Charhound – I got lucky! But no G.M.O.D. yet)
- Old content mounts (Once every few months – I’ll fly around on my mage and pick a few instances that I can farm easily for things like Elegon).
What would you say your reasons are for collecting mounts?
Thanks for taking the time to answer the survey!
I’m enjoy looking at statistics, so I appreciate your contribution.
Lastly – if you have a mount that you are particularly proud of, or a favourite because it’s just really great looking please email me your best screenshot at artenesse@gmail.com, so that I can use it in an upcoming post.
If you don’t want to email it – please leave me a comment below and let me know which mount it is.
