Island Expedition Rewards: Qinsho’s Eternal Hound

Have you got Qinsho’s Eternal Hound?

I finally got a mount from Island Expeditions! Qinsho’s Eternal Hound dropped for me!.

About 2 weeks ago, our raid team were asked to stop being such damn slackers push our Heart of Azeroth neck levels to 65.

Mythic Island Expeditions are much faster than flying all over both continents like a blue-arsed fly because they reward 450 Azerite Power each. At current gear levels – islands are done in 5-8 minutes.

I jumped into groups with guildies who were looking to do more, or just do their three for the weekly.

Are Island Expeditions Fun?

You either love or hate Islands. It turns out there is a middle ground. You can increase the amount you do, without “grinding your face off” and actually enjoy the experience and you might be rewarded for doing so.

BFA has been out now, for 14 months? These are the first big rewards that I’ve seen.

It seems logical to assume that if you increase the amount of Island Expeditions you do, that you increase your chances of something good dropping.  (Duh)

It turns out, I have a tinfoil hat theory…

I had 2 mounts drop in the space of 1 week. Incidentally, this was the very week where I increased the amount of islands I was doing.

This got me wondering…and bear with me for a second…

Is there some mechanic whereby – once you’ve completed the weekly quest, some kind of invisible buff is suddenly in place that increases your luck?

Occam’s razor states that all things being equal – the simplest explanation is most likely the truest one – in which case it’s simply that I did more islands than before and as a result, got more opportunities for drops.

Where do you stand with Island Expeditions?

Love them? Hate them? Just do the weekly? How many of the mounts have you collected?
