Movie Moments in World of Warcraft – Artenesse of Uldum

Many times in WoW, I find a place, or an NPC, or a *thing* that instantly transports me to a movie that I’ve seen, there are so many movie moments in World of Warcraft!

Then my brain just goes on a mission of its own and for the next two minutes (ok 10 minutes) I’m in a daydream, that looks like this video I made.

I know that Egypt (aka Uldum) isn’t ‘Arabia’ strictly speaking, but there was sand, and camels and stuff and my brain did this ok? Blame my brain.

When I was uploading the video, and filling in all the details – it asked for a video location, so I typed in Uldum to see if there was a real place called Uldum, and it turns out there is! It’s in Denmark though, so no camels!

Just a few tips regarding the content of this video…

The camel mount is one that you buy from the Ramkahen faction in Uldum. There are two colour variants.

The Reins of the Brown Riding Camel and The Reins of the Tan Riding Camel. For obvious reasons, these are ground mounts.

You need to be exalted with Ramkahen to purchase them.  You can either grind dailies, or buy rep tokens during Timewalking-Cataclysm week!

Once you’re friendly with Ramkahen, you can buy the Tabard and then wear it whilst doing Cataclysm Dungeons for extra rep. Remember the Darkmoon Faire gives a reputation earning buff when you ride the carousel, and if you have a level three Trading Post in your Warlords Garrison – go there to use the tokens for an extra percentage on the top.

The human racial passive also gives you an extra percentage. Hah, take that Horde scum! (We can still be friends after Battle for Azeroth, and you know I’m only joking).

I did dailies for awhile, before Timewalking existed, but got the last few reputation rungs with tokens. It’s a long trip to get out to Uldum, even if you’re a mage and can portal to Dalaran-Northrend, portal to Caverns of Time and then fly.

Pssst Shaman’s you have an Uldum portal in your Class Order Hall.

Lastly, don’t hesitate to pick herbs while you’re there, they’re still selling on the Auction House, because they are used in creating the potions required to craft the Sandstone Drake.

So what are your favourite movie references in World of Warcraft?
