World of Warcraft Archaeology : The Underutilised Goldmine
Have you been ignoring World of Warcraft Archaeology since Cataclysm?
I ignored it completely until I spent 14 months in Siege of Orgrimmar and I was looking for something to do. (Also it probably didn’t help that I had no idea how to do it – and everytime that telescopey thing popped up, I was like, ok…now what?)
Well, if you’ve been ignoring it too, it’s time to give it another look!
- Achievement Points
- Free Gold
In fact I have gotten into it so much, I made a video a little while ago – which you can see here below.
Don’t knock it, till you’ve tried it 🙂
So when do you find the time to crack on with some World of Warcraft Archaeology ? Well, I make sure that I’m near a dig site (or preferably several) whenever I’m about to queue for the daily dungeon, or LFR for valor etc – meaning that I’m never just standing around wasting time in my garrison etc.
It’s also a great way to kill time for those last 20 mins before raid time, while you wait for all the slackers to log in.
Remember – the only way to obtain the Sandstone Drake, which is a two-man mount is by either coughing up large amounts of gold on the Auction House and purchasing the Vial of the Sands, or by having one of your characters with Alchemy obtain the recipe by working exclusively on Tol-Vir artefacts – to obtain the Canopic Jars which have the possibility of containing the recipe. This will eventually lead to this character being able to craft and sell further Vial of the Sands on the Auction House – making your investment in time – infinitely lucrative as time goes on.
