T-Minus 7 Hours:

…until we have a release date for Warlords of Draenor!

That’s right people! At 17h30 GMT – or 18h30 EU Server time (9h30am PDT) the cinematic for Warlords of Draenor is being premiered live on stream at, and the big announcement that everyone can’t wait to hear, is the release date for Warlords of Draenor!

MMO-Champion are running a poll to see what people are predicting, and it’s really interesting to see the spread of ideas! Some compelling arguments are being made in the forums.

Personally I thought they would release it to coincide with the 10th Anniversary of World of Warcraft – but since they are bringing out the 40man Molten Core ‘Max-level’ event, I can’t imagine that ‘max-level’ would imply 100, so I guess they will release it soon after the 10th Anniversary celebrations end, around December 2nd.

What are your predictions?

Changes to Group Finder and Bag UI

This morning WoWhead have done a great showcase on the changes to the group finder user interface and also talked about improvements to quality of life in terms of bag features.

I can confirm first hand that the changes to bags are phenomenally awesome.  I use Elvui, which includes a bag tweaking option which shows your bag as one large storage hold, but since I don’t have Elvui installed on my beta client, I’ve enjoyed being able to organise my bags to each hold a specific type of item, that I will probably switch off the all-in-one bag option when Warlords of Draenor is finally live.

Primary Stats are the new black

In other news, it seems as though Blizzard have done an about face with a focus on secondary stats (haste/mastery/crit) in flasks and food, because primary stats (intellect/agility/strength) are back in the latest beta build.

With the removal of reforging, Blizzard had to find a way to allow us to still pick and choose the stats we wanted to test, and while they still say that we will be able to customize just as much, if not more, in Warlords of Draenor, we are going to have to rely on flasks, food, enchants and the odd gem to do it…it’s going to be interesting!

One of our Own, Passes

The news of Robin Williams death, hit me extremely hard.

While I don’t want to go into too much detail about why, suffice it to say that the news of someone, who brought so much laughter and light to this world, because they were suffering from depression, feelings of isolation and from feeling too overwhelmed by the atrocities taking place in this world resonated so deeply within me that I had to take a moment, just let it all go, and cry my heart out in empathy for the despair that he must have felt.

I never knew that he was a World of Warcraft player, (apparently on Mannoroth in the US), and when the petition to Blizzard to memorialise him within World of Warcraft with an NPC came across my twitter feed, I did not hesitate to sign it. To see the response from Blizzard within hours of doing so, reminded me why I love this game, and the company who make it, so much.
